1-8節--聖靈藉著我們來作見證

使徒行傳 第1章

耶穌差派聖靈住在我們心中，究竟是為了達成多少個目的呢？答案可能比我們所知道的要多很多。今天的經文讓我們知道多一個目的，就是聖靈要藉著我們來為基督作見證。

這是新約的總體教導。一個不能為基督作見證的基督徒，實在令人費解，也令人質疑他究竟是否真正的基督徒。每個基督徒都應該以「作見證」的心態來過每天的生活；這意味著他不單要用言語來為基督作見證，更要身體力行地彰顯基督。

當聖靈住到我們心裡，我們就能夠活出基督的形像，我們的行事為人就能反照基督的形像。我們接受了基督，並將生命的主權交給祂之後，我們的舊我就不能繼續操控我們，別人當然會看見這重大改變了！

然而，我們與別人碰面，可能只有短短幾分鐘的時間與他交談，不可能讓他全面地認識自己；因此，我們就要把握機會，透過交談來與人分享信仰和見證基督。

我們該說甚麼來見證基督呢？我們不必為此操心，只要倚靠聖靈便行。聖靈既然要我們去見證基督，祂就當然會將該說的話告訴我們了。

基督說：「你們要作我的見證」。我們唯有得著聖靈的能力，才能為基督作見證。願聖靈賜我們能力，讓我們能時刻見證基督。

牢記：

作見證不是一種恩賜，而是一項特權和責任。

WITNESSING THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT

How many reasons are there for the Holy Spirit coming and living in our hearts? There are probably many more than we realise. We are adding another one from our reading today. The Holy Spirit has come to witness to Christ through us.

This is the teaching of the whole of the New Testament. Actually a Christian who is not witnessing is a contradiction. Witnessing should be a way of life for us all. It is not merely by spoken words that we witness for Christ. It is also by our life day by day.

If the Holy Spirit is allowed to work in our lives, we will be reproductions of Christ. He will be seen in our actions and our reactions. Our old nature will not continue to be victorious. Our new nature, given to us when we accepted Christ, will take the upper place in our lives. Dont you think others will see this?

But no life is good enough, even so, to set forth Christ fully. Therefore the spoken word is also necessary. We may have only a few moments with a person. Our lives could not fully set forth Christ in two minutes or even an hour.

But what should we say? The Holy Spirit will give us the words to say. He wants to speak about Christ through us so he will certainly tell us what to say.

You shall be my witnesses, Christ said. How? After the Holy Spirit has given you the power. Why not ask him today to make you the witness he wants you to be?

REMEMBER:

Witnessing is not a gift, it is a privilege and responsibility.
