1-9節--耶穌使癱子起來行走

約翰福音 第5章

耶路撒冷靠近羊門的一個水池，已變成了一間細小的醫院，因為傳說池水能夠治病，所以許多病人躺在那裡等候得醫治的機會。耶穌知道那裡有很多病人，因此便專程前往那裡。基督總是想滿足人的需要。設想基督來到你住的城市，你想祂會首先訪問哪個地方？

耶穌為何要問那個病人，他是否想痊癒呢？因為人若不願意得醫治，基督是不會拯救他的。那人的回答顯出他是何等無助和充滿自憐。許多時候，我們豈不是一樣，認為自己沒有朋友和無人關心？你有過這種感覺嗎？

基督吩咐他做一件他能力辦不到的事，就是要他起來行走。然而，他卻直望著神子的眼睛，曉得這是基督的話，於是便聽命而行。

他是怎樣得醫治的？就是在他相信的那一刻，基督立即和完全地賜下祂的能力。這是一個神蹟的醫治；但事實擺在眼前，不容人的質疑。倘若他當時沒有接受耶穌的幫助，恐怕要繼續躺著過他的下半生了。是耶穌使他起來行走的；除耶穌以外，再無其他人可以辦得到了。

同樣地，我們在耶穌基督以外，也再無救恩的盼望。祂願意將救恩賜給每一個人，但問題同樣是：「你想要嗎？」祂不會強逼你接受，但祂等著把救恩給你。

這點同樣適用在基督徒身上。祂站在我們身旁，等候提供祂的幫助。但許多時候，我們只懂得靠自己，結果便只有失敗。我們何時才學會耶穌教導的這項功課，願意倚靠耶穌的幫助呢？耶穌說：「沒有我，你們便不能作甚麼。」今天，就讓我們懂得倚靠祂的幫助吧！

反思：神已應許祂的兒女──箴言三章5、6節。不僅讀它，且要相信它！

How Jesus Put A Man on His Feet
Bible Reading: John 5:1-9

Near the sheep gate in Jerusalem was a pool of water which had become a small hospital. Jesus was led there because of the needs of the people. Need always appealed to Christ. Where do you think he would go first if he came to one of our towns or cities?

Why did Jesus ask the man if he wanted to be made well? Christ will never save people if they do not want him to do so. The mans answer showed how helpless he was and how full of self-pity. Isnt it easy to think that we have no friends and no one cares about us? Have you ever felt like that?

Christ told him to do the one thing he couldnt do, get up and walk. But this man was looking into the eyes of the Son of God. These were the words of Christ and the man acted on them.

How was he healed? By the power of Christ, given when he believed - given immediately, completely. The cure was a miracle, but the fact was a certainty. If he had not accepted the help Jesus offered him just then, he may have stayed a cripple for the rest of his life. It was Jesus who put him onto his feet. No one else could have done it.

There is no hope of salvation except in Jesus Christ. He offers it to everyone, but the question is the same, Do you really want it? He wont force it on to you, but he waits to give it to you.

It is the same for Christians. He stands waiting to help us. But sometimes we try to work without his help and we only fail. When are we going to learn the lesson Jesus taught? Without me, you can do nothing. Let him help you today.
