耶穌一個最靠近使用禱告作為免除身體與靈性痛苦折磨的祈求，是祂在客西馬尼的禱告。
One of Jesus’ closest uses of prayer as a petition for relief from physical and spiritual suffering is his prayer in Gethsemane.
祂說：「阿爸！父啊！在你凡事都能；求你將這杯撤去。然而，不要從我的意思，只要從你的意思。」(可十四36)
36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
基督有一切的權利要求父親任何的東西；祂為什麼不堅持豁免這即將來臨在十字架上的折磨呢？答案是基督受苦乃為神的旨意。
Christ has every right to demand anything from the Father; why doesnt He insist on exempting this coming torture on the cross? The answer is that Christs suffering was Gods will.
客西馬尼的禱告是基督接受恩典與權能、順服神旨意的見證。
The prayer of Gethsemane is a testimony of Christs acceptance of grace and power and obedience to Gods will.
祈禱是讓人在面臨試煉時，有基督添加的力量幫助他渡過得平安，而不是作為一個解救他立刻脫離試煉的方法。
Prayer is to let people have the added power from Christ to help him live in peace when facing trials, not as a way to save him from the trial immediately.
