《Created in God’s image》
※Two Adams
There is an essential difference between the two versions of the creation of man. In chapter 1 man is created “in God’s own image” (Gen. 1:27), however in chapter 2 Adam is, "formed… of the dust of the ground" (Gen. 2:7). As a result of this difference, one can easily surmise that we have two different Adams here—one created in chapter one, and another created in chapter two.
※The same word
**In Genesis 1, God’s word is the main part of the whole creative process: God gives names to the things, and thus calls them into existence.

Gen.1: 5 And God called וַיִּקְרָ֨א 7121 the light Day, and the darkness he called קָ֣רָא 7121 Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

**In this light, it is extremely significant that the very first thing we see Adam doing in Genesis 2, is giving names to all the animals (Gen. 2:19, 20).

2:19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call יִקְרָא them: and whatsoever Adam called יִקְרָא every living creature, that was the name thereof. (Adam: or, the man)

קרא qârâ kaw-raw
A primitive root (rather identical with 7122 through the idea of accosting a person met); to call out to (that is, properly address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications)
קרא qârâ kaw-raw
1. to encounter, befall, meet
c. (Hiphil) to cause to meet

**The same very word that refers to God in Genesis, VaYikra (ויקרא), here refers to Adam “and he called”.
※Understand the Bible on a deeper level
This testimony of Adam’s very first action in chapter two is crucial. The first thing Adam did was actually to replicate God’s action, which means that we still see the same Adam of chapter one: created in God’s image and according to His likeness.
