《The Sea of Galilee’s original Hebrew name
※The heart of Jesus’ ministry
During the brief three-year period that Jesus was active as a prophet, he rarely left the region of Galilee. The vast majority of his deeds – miracles, parables, healings – were performed on the shores of the freshwater lake known as the Sea of Galilee. This lake was the hub of his ministry. So, it might come as a surprise that Jesus, who did not speak English, referred to this sea using a different name.
※A lake shaped like a lyre
In the original Hebrew text of the Bible, the name for the Sea of Galilee is Yam Kinneret יָם-כִּנֶּרֶת (Num. 34:11).

(3658):כּנּור kinnôr kin-nore
From an unused root meaning to twang撥弦聲;砰的一聲[C];(琴弦的)彈撥(n.); a harp
1- lyre, harp

This name comes from the Hebrew word for lyre: kinnor. Similar to a harp, this is a musical instrument which consists of ten strings stretched inside an oval frame. The oval shape of the lake reminded people of the shape of a kinnor, and its refreshing breezes reminded them of the pleasing sound of the kinnor. Hence the name Kinneret was born!
Hear the healing words of scripture
The most famous lyre player in the Bible was David, who “took the kinnor and played it with his hand, and Saul would be relieved and feel better, and the evil spirit would depart from him” (1 Sam. 16:23).

*On the phone, I used a harmonica to blow a song "Jesus loves you" to Brother Liao, who is unwilling to seek medical treatment. I told him: "Jesus loves you, if sick must have medical treatment." The family later said: "He immediately asked for an ambulance!"
