人類墮落並非因他們有意志，而是因他們有選擇罪惡的意志。
因「想像力」、「意志」如此容易逾越真實，欲以理性凌駕意志必須藉由屬天的恩典，受到聖經所光照的理智嚴密的控制；而非靠著屬人的教育。單靠教育只會使罪人「更會怪罪別人」、「更加邪惡」，只有恩典才能馴服叛逆的意志。
Human fall is not because they have the will, but because they have the will to choose sin.
Because "imagination" and "will" are so easy to pass over the truth, the desire to use rationality must be controlled by and through the heavenly grace; rather than by personal education. Education alone will only make sinners "more blame others" and "more evil doing". Only grace can tame the rebellious will.
人間の堕落は、意志があるからではなく、罪を選ぶ意志があるからです。
"想像力"と "意志"は真実を渡すのがとても簡単なので、合理性を使用するという欲求は天国の恵みによって制御されなければなりません。 個人的な教育ではなくむしろ。 教育だけでは、罪人を「より多くの人を責める」「より悪くする」ことができます。 恵みだけが反抗的な意志を鎮めることができます。
