The symbolic emphasis of the cross in the ancient world is also seen in the practice of hanging on a cross the corpse of a man who had been executed by some other means. What possible reason would there be for doing this, except to subject his name/reputation to the worst possible social indignity?
在古代，有將犯人處死後，再將屍體掛在十字架上的處罰，這就是明顯要侮辱這犯人，糟蹋他的名字和社會聲譽。

「十字架」對基督徒而言，是被聖化了，以至於在探討「十字架死刑」的真相時，很多人難以忍受談及「十字架」上的侮辱。聖經裡提及耶穌被掛在「樹上」，被釘死祂的眾人指指點點。世界上大部分的人，對耶穌基督仍然指指點點到如今。
The "cross" is sanctified for Christians, so that when discussing the truth about the "punishment of the cross", many people can hardly endure the insults on the "cross." The Bible mentions that Jesus was hung on the "tree" and that everyone who was crucified was insulted. Most of the people in the world are still insulting.
"十字架"はキリスト教徒のために聖別されているので、 "十字架の罰"について真実を論じるとき、多くの人々は十字架上の侮辱にほとんど耐えられません。 聖書は、イエスが「木」に掛けられていて、十字架につけられたすべての人が侮辱されたと言います。 世界の人々のほとんどはまだ侮辱しています。
