《Why a rainbow? 上帝為什麼在天空顯示彩虹？》
※According to the Bible, a rainbow is not merely a beautiful spectacle, but a symbol of God’s “everlasting promise” never to flood the earth again (Genesis 9:16).
根據聖經，彩虹不僅僅是一個美麗的景象，而是上帝與人類立下「永約」的象徵，永遠不會再次氾濫地球，以洪水毀滅人類（創世記9:16）。
16虹必現在雲彩中，我看見，就要記念我與地上各樣有血肉的活物所立的永約。」
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

This word appears frequently in the Bible, but only here does it refer to a rainbow. Everywhere else the word keshet refers to an archer’s bow, the primary weapon of war in the days of ancient Israel, so the immediate association when hearing the word keshet, was violence. keshet這個詞在聖經中，只有此處是指彩虹。在聖經其他地方，keshet這個詞指的是弓箭手的弓，這是古代以色列時代的主要戰爭武器，所以在聽到keshet這個詞的時候，就是關於暴力。

※After the flood, God surprisingly displays a massive bow in the sky. But this bow does not contain an arrow and it is facing upwards, away from earth. The message is clear: God has set aside his weapon of war and replaced it with a symbol of loving kindness.
