《The Nails用鐵釘釘在十字架上》
The nails were spikes used to impale the victim to the tree. In 1968 in a cemetery at Givat Ha-Mivtar (near Jerusalem), a bulldozer unearthed the skeletal remains of a man named “John” who had been crucified:
釘子是有尖端的鐵釘，用來將受害者固定在十字架上。1968年，在Givat Ha-Mivtar（耶路撒冷附近）的一座墓地裡，一輛推土機挖掘出一名被釘十字架的名叫「約翰」的人的骨骼遺骸：
“The feet were joined almost parallel, both transfixed by the same nail at the heels, with the legs adjacent; the knees were doubled, the right one overlapping the left; the trunk was contorted; the upper limbs were stretched out, each stabbed by a nail in the forearm” (cited in Lane, 565).
「腳幾乎平行地靠在在一起，兩個腳跟用同一根釘子刺穿固定，腿部相鄰；膝蓋雙層，右邊疊在左邊之上；身軀被扭曲了；上肢伸展開，左右前臂都被鐵釘刺入。」（引自Lane，565）。
