Is there something you’ve wanted to do for a long time — but for one reason or another, it hasn’t happened?
In his Gospel, Mark tells us of a blind man who learned that Jesus was coming his way and cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47). The Master responded, “What do you want me to do for you?” (verse 51). Jesus wanted blind Bartimeus to get specific. When he answered, “I want to see,” Jesus immediately healed him.
What, specifically, is it you want to do? If you have a strong sense of purpose that is in line with God’s will, and if you earnestly desire to accomplish this thing, you can do it. The Psalmist praised God in these words: “You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing” (Psalm 145:16). God longs to satisfy your deepest desires; one of the first steps toward their fulfillment is for you to clarify those desires.
