《The secret of One》

※Hear O Israel
**One of the most famous verses in the entire Bible is Deuteronomy 6:4, which says: “Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” This serves as the opening phrase of the Shema, the most important of all Jewish prayers, recited twice every day.
整本聖經中最著名的經文是申命記6：4，它說：「以色列啊，你要聽！耶和華我們神是獨一的主。」這是猶太人祈禱前，每天誦兩次Shema中最重要的一句話。

※Defining God’s Oneness
The Hebrew word echad means “one”, but the notion that God is singular and not plural is only the beginning. Echad can also mean “unique”, which teaches that the God of the Bible is the only true divinity. In Pagan religions there is a concept of multiple gods responsible for different aspects of life. The opposite is true in Judaism and Christianity; the one God belongs in a category all alone, encapsulating all the power of nature.
