創1
1起初，神創造天地。
2地是空虛混沌，淵面黑暗；神的靈運行在水面上。
3神說：「要有光」，就有了光。
4神看光是好的，就把光暗分開了。
5神稱光為「晝」，稱暗為「夜」。有晚上，有早晨，這是頭一日。
6神說：「諸水之間要有空氣，將水分為上下。」
7神就造出空氣，將空氣以下的水、空氣以上的水分開了。事就這樣成了。
8神稱空氣為「天」。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。
9神說：「天下的水要聚在一處，使旱地露出來。」事就這樣成了。
10神稱旱地為「地」，稱水的聚處為「海」。神看著是好的。
11神說：「地要發生青草和結種子的菜蔬，並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。」事就這樣成了。
12於是地發生了青草和結種子的菜蔬，各從其類；並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。神看著是好的。
13有晚上，有早晨，是第三日。
14神說：「天上要有光體，可以分晝夜，作記號，定節令、日子、年歲，
15並要發光在天空，普照在地上。」事就這樣成了。
16於是神造了兩個大光，大的管晝，小的管夜，又造眾星，
17就把這些光擺列在天空，普照在地上，
18管理晝夜，分別明暗。神看著是好的。
19有晚上，有早晨，是第四日。
20神說：「水要多多滋生有生命的物；要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中。」
21神就造出大魚和水中所滋生各樣有生命的動物，各從其類；又造出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。神看著是好的。
22神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」
23有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。
24神說：「地要生出活物來，各從其類；牲畜、昆蟲、野獸，各從其類。」事就這樣成了。
25於是神造出野獸，各從其類；牲畜，各從其類；地上一切昆蟲，各從其類。神看著是好的。
26神說：「我們要照著我們的形象、按著我們的樣式造人，使他們管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切昆蟲。」
27神就照著自己的形像造人，乃是照著祂的形象造男造女。
28神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」
29神說：「看哪，我將遍地上一切結種子的菜蔬和一切樹上所結有核的果子全賜給你們作食物。
30至於地上的走獸和空中的飛鳥，並各樣爬在地上有生命的物，我將青草賜給他們作食物。」事就這樣成了。
31神看著一切所造的都甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六日。
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day.
6 And God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.
7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.
8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning-the second day.
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.
10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
13 And there was evening, and there was morning-the third day.
14 And God said, “Let there be lights the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let then serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.
16 God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,
18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 And there was evening, and there was morning- the fourth day.
20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”
21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
23 And there was evening, and there was morning-the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.
25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it-I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning-the sixth day.
創2
1天地萬物都造齊了。
2到第七日，神造物的工已經完畢，就在第七日歇了祂一切的工，安息了。
3神賜福給第七日，定為聖日；因為在這日，神歇了祂一切創造的工，就安息了。
4創造天地的來歷，在耶和華神造天地的日子，乃是這樣，
5野地還沒有草木，田間的菜蔬還沒有長起來；因為耶和華神還沒有降雨在地上，也沒有人耕地，
6但有霧氣從地上騰，滋潤遍地。
7耶和華神用地上的塵土造人，將生氣吹在他鼻孔裡，他就成了有靈的活人，名叫亞當。
8耶和華神在東方的伊甸立了一個園子，把所造的人安置在那裡。
9耶和華神使各樣的樹從地裡長出來，可以悅人的眼目，其上的果子好作食物。園子當中又有生命樹和分別善惡的樹。
10有河從伊甸流出來，滋潤那園子，從那裡分為四道：
11第一道名叫比遜，就是環繞哈腓拉全地的。在那裡有金子，
12並且那地的金子是好的；在那裡又有珍珠和紅瑪瑙。
13第二道河名叫基訓，就是環繞古實全地的。
14第三道河名叫希底結，流在亞述的東邊。第四道河就是伯拉河。
15耶和華神將那人安置在伊甸園，使他修理，看守。
16耶和華神吩咐祂說：「園中各樣樹上的果子，你可以隨意吃，
17只是分別善惡樹上的果子，你不可吃，因為你吃的日子必定死！」
18耶和華神說：「那人獨居不好，我要為他造一個配偶幫助他。」
19耶和華神用土所造成的野地各樣走獸和空中各樣飛鳥都帶到那人面前，看他叫什麼。那人怎樣叫各樣的活物，那人怎樣叫各樣的活物，那就是他的名字。
20那人便給一切牲畜和空中飛鳥、野地走獸都起了名；只是那人沒有遇見配偶幫助他。
21耶和華神使他沉睡，他就睡了；於是取下他的一條肋骨，又把肉合起來。
22耶和華神就用那人身上所取的肋骨造成一個女人，領他到那人跟前。
23那人說：這是我骨中的骨，肉中的肉，可以稱他為「女人」，因為他是從「男人」身上取出來的。
24因此，人要離開父母，與妻子連合，二人成為一體。
25當時夫妻二人赤身露體，並不羞恥。
Genesis 2
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground,
6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground-trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.
11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.
12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.)
13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.
14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
