出21
1「你在百姓面前所要立的典章是這樣：
2你若買希伯來人作奴僕，他必服事你六年；第七年他可以自由，白白地出去。
3他若孤身來就可以孤身去；他若有妻，他的妻就可以同他出去。
4他主人若給他妻子，妻子給他生了兒子或女兒，妻子和兒女要歸主人，他要獨自出去。
5倘或奴僕明說：『我愛我的主人和我的妻子兒女，不願意自由出去。』
6他的主人就要帶他到審判官(神)那裡，又要帶他到門前，靠近門框，用錐子穿他的耳朵，他就永遠服事主人。
7「人若賣女兒作婢女，婢女不可像男僕那樣出去。
8主人選定他歸自己，若不喜歡他，就要許他贖身；主人既然用詭詐待他，就沒有權柄賣給外邦人。
9主人若選定他給自己的兒子，就當待他如同女兒。
10若另娶一個，那女子的吃食、衣服，並好合的事，仍不可減少。
11若不向他行這三樣，他就可以不用錢贖，白白地出去。」
12「打人以致打死的，必要把他治死。
13人若不是埋伏著殺人，乃是神交在他手中，我就設下一個地方，他可以往那裡逃跑。
14人若任意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍，就是逃到我的壇那裡，也當捉去把他治死。
15「打父母的，必要把他治死。
16「拐帶人口，或是把人賣了，或是留在他手下，必要把他治死。
17「咒罵父母的，必要把他治死。
18「人若彼此相爭，這個用石頭或是拳頭打那個，尚且不至於死，不過躺臥在床，
19若再能起來扶杖而出，那打他的可算無罪；但要將他耽誤的工夫用錢賠補，並要將他全然醫好。
20「人若用棍子打奴僕或婢女，立時死在他的手下，他必要受刑。
21若過一兩天才死，就可以不受刑，因為是用錢買的。
22「人若彼此爭鬥，傷害有孕的婦人，甚至墮胎，隨後卻無別害，那傷害他的，總要按婦人的丈夫所要的，照審判官所斷的，受罰。
23若有別害，就要以命償命，
24以眼還眼，以牙還牙，以手還手，以腳還腳，
25以烙還烙，以傷還傷，以打還打。
26「人若打壞了他奴僕或是婢女的一隻眼，就要因他的眼放他去得以自由。
27若打掉了他奴僕或是婢女的一個牙，就要因他的牙放他去得以自由。」
28「牛若觸死男人或是女人，總要用石頭打死那牛，卻不可吃他的肉；牛的主人可算無罪。
29倘若那牛素來是觸人的，有人報告了牛主，他竟不把牛拴著，以致把男人或是女人觸死，就要用石頭打死那牛，牛主也必治死。
30若罰他贖命的價銀，他必照所罰的贖他的命。
31牛無論觸了人的兒子或是女兒，必照這例辦理。
32牛若觸了奴僕或是婢女，必將銀子三十舍客勒給他們的主人，也要用石頭把牛打死。
33「人若敞著井口，或挖井不遮蓋，有牛或驢掉在裡頭，
34井主要拿錢賠還本主人，死牲畜要歸自己。
35「這人的牛若傷了那人的牛，以至於死，他們要賣了活牛，平分價值，也要平分死牛。
36人若知道這牛素來是觸人的，主人竟不把牛拴著，他必要以牛還牛，死牛要歸自己。」
Exodus 21
1 “These are the laws you are to set before them:
2 “If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything.
3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him.
4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.
5 “But if the servant declares, ‘I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free.’
6 then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life.
7 “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do.
8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her.
9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter.
10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.
11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.
12 “Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.
13 However, if it is not done intentionally, but God lets it happen, they are to flee to a place I will designate.
14 But if anyone schemes and kills someone deliberately, that person is to be taken from my altar and put to death.
15 “Anyone who attacks their father or mother is to be put to death.
16 “Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.
17 “Anyone who curses their or mother is to be put to death.
18 “If people quarrel and one person hits another with a stone or with their fist and the victim does not die but is confined to bed,
19 the one who struck the blow will not be held liable if the other can get up and walk around outside with a staff; however, the guilty party must pay the injured person for any loss of time and see that the victim is completely healed.
20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,
21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.
22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows.
23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life,
24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.
26 “An owner who hits a male or female slave in the eye and destroys it must let the slave go free to compensate for the eye.
27 And an owner who knocks out the tooth of a male or female slave must let the slave go free to compensate for the tooth.
28 “If a bull gores a man or woman to death, the bull is to be stoned to death, and its meat must not be eaten. But the owner of the bull will not be held responsible.
29 If, however, the bull has had the habit of goring and the owner has been warned but has not kept it panned up and it kills a man or woman, the bull is to be stoned and its owner also is to be put to death.
30 However, if payment is demanded, the owner may redeem his life by the payment of whatever is demanded.
31 This law also applies if the bull gores a son or daughter.
32 If the bull gores a male or female salve, the owner must pay thirty shekels of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull is to be stoned to death.
33 “If anyone uncovers a pit or digs one and fails to cover it and an ox or a donkey falls into it,
34 the one who opened the pit must pay the owner for the loss and take the dead animal in exchange.
35 “If anyone’s bull injures someone else’s bull and it dies, the two parties are to sell the live one and divide both the money and the dead animal equally.
36 However, if it was known that the bull had the habit of goring, yet the owner did not keep it penned up, the owner must pay, animal for animal, and take the dead animal in exchange.
出22
1「人若偷牛或羊，無論是宰了，是賣了，他就要以五牛賠一牛，四羊賠一羊。
2人若遇見賊挖窟窿，把賊打了，以至於死，就不能為他有流血的罪。
3若太陽已經出來，就為他有流血的罪。賊若被拿，總要賠還。若他一無所有，就要被賣，頂他所偷的物。
4若他所偷的，或牛，或驢，或羊，仍在他手下存活，他就要加倍賠還。
5「人若在田間或在葡萄園裡放牲畜，任憑牲畜上別人的田裡去吃，就必拿自己田間上好的和葡萄園上好的賠還。
6「若點火焚燒荊棘，以致將別人堆積的禾捆，站著的禾稼，或是田園，都燒盡了，那點火的必要賠還。
7「人若將銀錢或家具交付鄰舍看守，這物從那人的家被偷去，若把賊找到了，賊要加倍賠還；
8若找不到賊，那家主必就近審判官，要看看他拿了原主的物件沒有。
9「兩個人的案件，無論是為什麼過犯，或是為牛，為驢，為羊，為衣裳，或是為什麼失掉之物，有一人說：『這是我的』，兩造就要將案件稟告審判官，審判官定誰有罪，誰就要加倍賠還。
10「人若將驢，或牛，或羊，或別的牲畜，交付鄰舍看守，牲畜或死，或受傷，或被趕去，無人看見，
11那看守的人要憑著耶和華起誓，手裡未曾拿鄰舍的物，本主就要罷休，看守的人不必賠還。
12牲畜若從看守的那裡被偷去，他就要賠還本主；
13若被野獸撕碎，看守的要帶來當作證據，所撕的不必賠還。
14「人若向鄰舍借什麼，所借的或受傷，或死，本主沒有同在一處，借的人總要賠還；
15若本主同在一處，他就不必賠還；若是雇的，也不必賠還，本是為雇價來的。」
16「人若引誘沒有受聘的處女，與他行淫，他總要交出聘禮，娶他為妻。
17若女子的父親決不肯將女子給他，他就要按處女的聘禮，交出錢來。
18「行邪術的女人，不可容他存活。
19「凡與獸淫合的，總要把他治死。
20「祭祀別神，不單單祭祀耶和華的，那人必要滅絕。
21「不可虧負寄居的，也不可欺壓他，因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。
22不可苦待寡婦和孤兒；
23若是苦待他們一點，他們向我一哀求，我總要聽他們的哀聲，
24並要發烈怒，用刀殺你們，使你們的妻子為寡婦，兒女為孤兒。
25「我民中有貧窮人與你同住，你若借錢給他，不可如放債的向他取利。
26你即或拿鄰舍的衣服作當頭，必在日落以先歸還他；
27因他只有這一件當蓋頭，是他蓋身的衣服，若是沒有，他拿什麼睡覺呢？他哀求我，我就應允，因為我是有恩惠的。
28「不可毀謗神；也不可毀謗你百姓的官長。
29「你要從你莊稼中的穀和酒醡中滴出來的酒拿來獻上，不可遲延。「你要將頭生的兒子歸給我。
30你牛羊頭生的，也要這樣；七天當跟著母，第八天要歸給我。
31「你要在我面前為聖潔的人。因此，田間被野獸撕裂牲畜的肉，你們不可吃，要丟給狗吃。」
Exodus 22
1 “Whoever steals an ox or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it must pay back five head of cattle for the ox and four sheep for the sheep.
2 “If a thief is caught breaking in at night and is struck a fatal blow, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed;
3 but if it happens after sunrise, the defender is guilty of bloodshed. “Anyone who steals must certainly make restitution, but if they have nothing, they must be sold to pay for their theft.
4 If the stolen animal is found alive in their possession-whether ox or donkey or sheep-they must pay back double.
5 “If anyone grazes their livestock in a field or vineyard and lets them stray and they graze in someone else’s field, the offender must make restitution from the best of their own field or vineyard.
6 “If a fire breaks out and spreads into thornbushes so that it burns shocks of grain or standing grain or the whole field, the one who started the fire must make restitution.
7 “if anyone gives a neighbor silver or goods for safekeeping and they are stolen from the neighbor’s house, the thief, if caught, must pay back double.
8 But if the thief is not found, the owner of the house must appear before the judges, and they must determine whether the owner of the house has laid hands on the other person’s property.
9 In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says, ‘This is mine,’ both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare guilty must pay back double to the other.
10 “If anyone gives a donkey, an ox, a sheep or any other animal to their neighbor for safekeeping and it dies or is injured or is taken away while no one looking,
11 the issue between them will be settled by the taking of an oath before the Lord that the neighbor did not lay hands on the other person’s property. The owner is to accept this, and no restitution is required.
12 But if the animal was stolen from the neighbor, restitution must be made to the owner.
13 If it was torn to pieces by a wild animal, the neighbor shall bring in the remains as evidence and shall not be required to pay for the torn animal.
14 “If anyone borrows an animal from their neighbor and it is injured or died while the owner is not present, they must make restitution.
15 But if the owner is with the animal, the borrower will not have to pay. If the animal was hired, the money paid for the hire covers the loss.
16 “If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife.
17 If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he must still pay the bride-price for virgins.
18 “Do not allow a sorceress to live.
19 “Anyone who has sexual relations with an animal is to be put to death.
20 “Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the Lord must be destroyed.
21 “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.
22 “Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless.
23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.
24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
25 “If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not treat it like a business deal; charge no interest.
26 If you take your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, return it by sunset,
27 because that cloak is the only covering your neighbor has. What else can they sleep in? When they cry out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
28 “Do not blaspheme God or curse the ruler of your people.
29 “Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats. “You must give me the firstborn of your sons.
30 Do the same with your cattle and your sheep. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but give them to me on the eighth day.
31 “You are to be my holy people. So do not eat the meat of an animal torn by wild beasts; throw it to the dogs.
