1-5節--信徒的產業和盼望

彼得前書 第1章

一個初生的嬰兒，不知道父母會將甚麼給他。同樣地，當一個人最初接受基督的時候，他也不會立時知道基督會將甚麼賜給他。

彼得在這裡提到信徒的「基業」。這「基業」並非指到某些屬於將來才可承受，而信徒此刻卻未可知的東西。反之，它是指到我們如今在基督裡已承受的所有東西，是我們在這刻已可全部擁有，是在基督裡已為我們穩妥存留的東西。

彼得說，這「基業」是不能被蟲或蛀壞，它不能被罪玷污；我們所擁有的，正是基督自己，祂是全然純全和聖潔的。

彼得還說，這「基業」是永不衰殘的。它已經寫上我們的名字，已經為我們各人好好保存。它不僅是罪得赦免，不僅是將來上天堂，而是兩者兼備，而且，最重要的，是還有基督自己也屬乎我們。我們是在基督裡而可以承受這一切的。當我們知道我們竟可承受這「基業」，豈不感到萬分高興嗎？豈不該立即高呼「讚美主」嗎？

彼得還指出，這一切「基業」已經為我們穩妥地保存在基督裡；而且，神的能力更會親自保守我們，使我們必能進入和享受基督為我們所預備的一切。

神的能力會全面地保守我們，除非得到祂的允准，否則沒有任何東西能攻擊我們。這個真理給我們莫大的鼓舞！我們雖然軟弱，但因為我們是神的兒女，所以祂必保守我們到底。

到了神所預定的時間，隨著耶穌基督的再來，神家裡的所有人，便會在世人眼前顯現。那時，不屬神的人將面臨神的審判，但神的兒女卻得享平安。正如昔日當洪水降臨，外面的世界被洪水淹蓋，但挪亞一家卻在方舟裡安然無恙。

OUR INHERITANCE AND HOPE

A newborn baby doesnt realise all that is his in family relationships. Nor does a newborn Christian understand straight away all that comes to him when he accepts Christ.

Peter speaks about Our inheritance. This does not refer to something still in the future, of which we know nothing today. It means all that we have in Christ now. It is ours at this moment. It is safe and secure in him.

Peter says this inheritance cant be attacked by anything like months or rust. It cannot be stained by sin. What we have in Christ himself and he is pure and holy.

He adds another thought - this inheritance will never fade or decay. It has already been set aside for each of us with our own name on it. It is more than sin just going to heaven. They are both included, but finally it is Christ himself. It is in him that we have everything. Isnt that something to get excited about? Why not shout Praise the Lord right now?

Then Peter has still another thought. All this is kept secure for us in Christ. We are protected and kept by the power of God so that we can really enter into and enjoy all that is ours in Christ.

The keeping power of God is a circle of defence through which nothing can come unless he allows it. This is such an encouraging truth. In spite of our failures, we, his children, are being kept safe by God himself.

Then when God is ready, he will revel to all the world just who have been the members of his family. This will take place when Jesus Christ comes again. When judgment overtakes those who are not Gods children, the sons of God will be absolutely safe, just as Noah and his family were safe in the ark while the flood raged outside.
