1-11節--與基督聯合

羅馬書 第6章

保羅希望他的讀者知道，他們因著相信基督，便能與祂建立非常親密的關係。他經常採用「在基督裡」這種說法，來幫助他們去明白這個觀念。事實上，這個片語在保羅書信中出現了大約164次。

這章開頭的幾節，便直接指出我們在基督裡的其中一個結果──那就是：我們不能再繼續犯罪，像未得救前一樣。任何基督徒都不可以說，基督徒的行為表現是無關重要的；反之，基督徒的生命必須彰顯基督。

我們各人都有犯罪和自私的「舊本性」。這種本性是與生俱來的；當我們還活在世上的一日，我們都無法完全擺脫它。

然而，這並非說我們無法克勝這舊本性，以及從它而來的犯罪欲望。在神的眼中，我們的舊人已經與基督同釘十字架，聖靈也住在我們裡面，使我們脫離舊本性的轄制。

與此同時，當我們來到基督面前的時候，神便賜給我們新的性情；而聖靈亦加力給我們，使我活出新人的樣式。

總的而言，我們可以把保羅所說的重點分列如下：

我們的舊人已經與基督同死。

在神的眼中，我們不再受舊人的轄制。

我們已經與基督一同復活，我們就像復活了的新人一樣，有著新的性情。

我們要憑著信心來接受這些真理。

住在我們裡面的聖靈，會幫助我們明白及經歷這一切事情。

洗禮象徵了我們已經從死裡復活。

請再讀第11節，我們要用信心來接受這個真理，並祈求聖靈來幫助我們經歷它的真實。

UNITED WITH CHRIST

I Paul wanted his hearers and his readers to understand how I close they were to Christ because of their faith in him. He often used the words in Christ to try and help them understand. In fact it is said that he used that simple phrase about 164 times in his various letters.

The opening verses of the chapter plainly teach one of the results of our being in Christ-that we can no longer go on sinning as if we had never been saved. No-one can ever say I that behaviour as a Christian doesnt matter. It is very important that our lives show forth Christ.

We all have an old nature which wants to be sinful and I selfish. We were born with it and it will be with us until we die. Only then will we be finally completely released from it.

But that does not mean we cannot have victory over that old nature and over the sinful desires that come from it. In Gods sight, that old nature died when Christ died on the cross and the Holy Spirit is living within us to help us break the power of our old nature.

At the same time, when we came to Christ we were given a new nature, which comes to us frol1l God himself. The Spirit of God wants to help us live in the area of that new nature.

Put these thoughts alongside what Paul has said here and I this is what we have:

We died (our old nature) when Christ died.

In Gods sight, that old nature is no longer reigning over us.

We rose again with Christ and our new nature is like a resurrection life for us.

We are to accept these truths by faith.

The Holy Spirit is within us to help us both understand and experience these things.

Baptism by immersion is a picture of these truths.

Go back and read verse 11 again. Believe this truth and ask God the Holy Spirit to make it real in your life and experience today. He is within to help you and to make real to you all that Jesus Christ has made possible for you.

A VERSE FOR TODAY: Sin shall not have dominion over you.
